It is with great sadness that we share news of the recent tragedy , the founding member of our Alienware ecosystem , my 17R3 laptop , just before her 9th Birthday , has refused to boot up due to hard drive failure , and please respect our privacy during this difficult time . We are hoping for her full recovery , and please feel free to share your experience with regards your longest running Alienware laptop(with original parts) without hardware problem . 9 years surely is quite an achievement . Thank you .

Although it will still be a major upgrade, I would look at SSD models with DRAM cache instead of SLC cache.
