Please can someone tell me what "Fragments" are?
I currently have 7 with a 5 count from the calendar.
What can I do with them?
What do I need to do, to use them?

you need frags for artifact upgrades. You should always buy them when they are on market. It is quite hard to get them, because you need many of them for max uprade.

check user profiles and you will se cards with artifacts. You need frags to upgrade these artifacts to better variants.

@dsnow85 Yes, it's essential in fact. You want to get ALL the fragments you can get your hands on, it takes 52 of them to upgrade a single card to its max. And it takes a lot of time to get that many fragments.
