The other question (that we'll never get answered) is: how many keys were available? Because I'm genuinely shocked by that lowest winning bid. I'm shocked by the top bid, too, but I would've expected closer to 10K to be the minimum.

Wow. That's definitely more than I would've expected. If there were a few hundred keys available then being able to win with a lower bid makes way more sense.
