Today Valve announced 3 new additions to their Steam Hardware series expanding on the Deck to include a new Controller, Steam Machine, and finally the long-awaited replacement to the Index: the Steam Frame.

The Steam Machine and Frame both have SteamOS installed and the Frame will have compatibility for x86 apps despite being ARM. And since it's not locked down, you can do whatever you want on it.

Among niche products, VR headsets are still very niche and it won't become mainstream for decades if not ever. The Steam Machine's specs are pretty weak. The price will dictate its success but I doubt it'll be sub $600. That'll kill it.
The Steam controller's trackpads look like they're the same from the Steam Deck. It's a nice idea but it'll mostly go ignored like on the Steam Deck. I bought the first Steam controller for $5 when Valve gave up on it. It'll happen again.
im not sure why Steam is so obsessed with this trackpad design on the controller. its terrible and uncomfortable. their is a reason the last controller failed so terribly. the only reason it works on the Steam Deck is due to the size.
